Back pain when swallowing

Over the last few days I am having a slight pain in my back near the right side of my left shoulder blade. The pain is there constantly, but when I swallow it hurts more and it feels like the food or drink is actually touching the pain. What could this be and if it persists what type of doctor should I see?

Tami, I have the EXACT same pain to a T. I have had it 3 months. I have been to a couple of doctors and they don't seem to know what is causing it. I think it might have to do with my upper neck/back area though. Please post here again so we can talk more about this.
