I have upper back pain that hurts to the point that I cannot go back to sleep, it wakes me up, & once it does, it's impossible to go back to sleep because of the pain. Usually the pain will go away not long after waking up, sometimes though it's there for hours before it starts feeling better. It's in no question being caused from sleeping. It feels like a muscle in my back has been stretched too far. It does not help sleeping in a different bed. The pain is to the side of the left bone in my back. Any ideas what could be wrong? The pain is always in the same spot.
