My mri shows disk protrusion at L4-5 with moderate compromise of L4-5 foramen. Mild to moderate narrowing of left L5-S1 foramen. what does this mean?

SounRAB like me :) I was very new to all the terminology but I spent hours researching online looking up each of the terms used in my mri scan. I am not an expert but I found enough by doing that and asking my physio and gp to understand what it said.

For instance this Intervertebral foramen: An opening between vertebrae through which nerves leave the spine and extend to other parts of the body. Also called a neural foramen. from the medterms.com site but there are many others.

Slipped disc isn't a term that is used much by themedical profession but disc protrustion is the same, so basically you can get the picture :)
