I began by hurthing ny back lifting a roll of turf, felt a pop and now ny symptoms are aching lower back along with very irritating pain on the hamstring, calf and nurabness in my foot. I have no power or muscle funtion to flex my toes and foot upward. constant pain while sitting or lying down, and am wondering if anyone else has had this similar problem or know what it would be......only feels slightly better when moving around.... doctors only have me on physical therapy and happened about a week ago... no xrays of MRI has been put into place yet, workers compensation doctors.....I am only 35 and just want to get back to active lifestyle.....?
I just got an MRI done on the 14th, results are Disc L5 and S1 , have a herniated disc of 11mm on the posterior vertebrae, geussing next step is to see specialist and start with injections to see if that will take down the swelling? Do you think injections will work?

hi. i know you are in colorado, but checkout Dr. Todd Gravori in Los Angeles. he is a UCLA grad Neurosurgeon / Spine Surgeon and has had a successful record treating his patients.

I hope you get better soon! Cheers!

You need to get a referral to a good back doctor and also you need an MRI to see what it was that gave out in your back.

thank you for the advice, pain is just worse doing physical therapy......not knowing what they are treating

I have severely compressed nerves from a ruptured disc. I would want an MRI before I went back to PT. I am having surgery tomorrow partly due to what a PT did to me without having a definitive diagnosis. I have been through more pain than I ever thought I could tolerate. The leg nurabness shouldn't be ignored, as well as the weakness in your leg. My dr said I could have permanent nerve damage because so much time has gone by since my injury. I think we have to be very proactive in our treatment. I wish you the best of luck.
