I would suggest that she call her doctor and be seen. Did she have a cervical or lurabar fusion? If these are new symptoms and are severe enough that it is causing her new or increased symptoms then she definately neeRAB to be seen and the sooner the better.
It may be nothing but it could be something that the surgeon neeRAB to be made aware of right away.
