Oh, boy. That's not good! If they prescribed it like it's usually prescribed, 1-2 every 4-6 hours, then if my math is right, even at the highest dose prescribed, you've taken it more than they wanted you to. Your doctor's not going to be happy with you, but you've gotta call him. Just be honest.
You said you're a wife and mom. Is there someone else in the house who could be in charge of your meRAB? Can your husband leave you just the day's amount each day, so you're less tempted to take extra? Is he strong enough to not give you more when you tell him you're in pain?
Oh, sweetie, you've gotta be careful with these meRAB. The doctors have strict prescribing rules and can't give you more if it seems like you're not sticking to the prescribed dosage. When I was at your point after my fusion, I set the alarm to not miss a dose at night, but I was still in pain even at the highest allowable dose. You may not get complete relief from the meRAB. If it cuts your pain, you may have to settle for that and not give in to trying to be pain-free by taking more meRAB.
I hope your doctor will work with you on this and help you deal with the pain. You're going to have to make that call. Take a deep breath, figure out how you're going to tell him what's going on, be honest, and hope for the best.
Let us know what happens.
