back ache!

i have been suffering back problem for past 5years,and have tried several type of treatment for the same.but nerver got relife from any of the treatment . i started acuepressure and the went to ortho now acuepuncture..my pain is in lower back bwteen L5 and L6, and the pain is continues in my left leg.it feels very heavy and there is burning feeling through out the day.i do strech exercise for about an hour daily. i was on ultracet (3tab daily) and lyric (1daily)for about 3 months ,but i came back to same once i stopped itake of those tab.
 
have you ever actually had an MRI just to really be able to see whats going on in that area? that would really help to better define the full extent of what is causing your pain and symptoms. once you get that done, anything as far as treatment options are just kind of dictated by whatever the hard findings are there. marcia
