Can't really blame her anime fans are mostly awful human beings, as shown in their reaction shots in that article.
 
It's not something new, alot of comedians in Japan started a music career, some leave TV all together....heck you even had a band stop playing music to host a very famous show Hey! Hey! Hey!

but its mostly the horney lil boys who just loved her cute lil voice, which yes she is very cute and sounds cute, but isn't it better that she is going to be on TV so they can see her?

I think it's more she admitted she rather have sex with older guys so the teens and younger guys who know they never have a shot with her, but its not like they had a chance in the first place
