I am scheduled to have this axialif surgery done on Monday, May 18th and I'm not really sure about it. Helppppp!!!!!

I hurt my back at work in Deceraber of 2005 which ended up being 3 buldging discs that caused severe pain. The first Dr. I was sent to (by workman's comp) put me on percocet and sent me to pain management for those epidural injections over a 6 month period, which did not work. By the time I had the 3rd one, two weeks later, I could not walk and moving in any kind of way hurt like he..! So, the Dr. decided to do that laminectomy/ decompression at the L5-S1 area(April 2007). After that, I was given stronger pain meRAB and after 3 months the Dr. that did the surgery said that there was nothing more that he could do. So, workman's comp sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. (August 2007)He wanted me to have more injections and after 2 more that did nothing, comp refused to pay for any more of them. So, this new ortho Dr. sent me to another pain management Dr. to try that spine cord stimulator (which did not work for the pain in the back and shooting all the way down my left side.)After that, the ortho dr. decided that he needed to do a fusion at the L5-S1 area. (April 2008) # months later I'm off to another pain management Dr. that gives me methadone, roxycodone, vicodin and elavil to take on a daily basis. Can not function too well on all this. Now, this ortho Dr. says he neeRAB to take the fusion that he did out of the L5-S1 level and do a regular fusion at the L3-L4 levels, and do an axialif on the L5-S1 discs that will require taking bone graft from my pelvic bone. So, this is actually 4 procedures that he wants to do at one time and I'm confused and scared about it.

1st: remove fusion from L5-S1
2nd: do regular fusion from back on L3-L4
3rd: bone graft from pelvic bone
4th: axialif on L4-L5 & L5-S1

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated in the small amount of time I have before monday the 18th.

I wouldn't do it. It makes no sense why he would do different procedures. I had the axialif and totally regret it! My symptoms started in the 80's and I just broke down and had surgery last year. I am so worse now than I was before.
