Awful Taste in My Mouth?

I just moved to a crummier part of the city I live in, which has a lot of...unnatural, repulsive smells. The second night I spent here I had my window opened, I was also getting sick. My husband just figures that it was because I was sick, but noticed it started, again the other night after there was such an awful smell that it made me nautious, I had to close the window, but noticed the taste came back in full swing.
It used to be stronger when my mouth was dry, but now, its strongest when I drink too much. I can take little sips and not taste it, but as soon as I do, I almost get sick, and sometimes I do, which is causing me to drink less. I know it sounds stupid, but the fluids werent staying in my body for more than a few seconds anyway. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, I figured it would be my water, but my husband is fine, and its also pop, juice etc. bugging me, yet I dont taste it at all when eating, or even eating juicy fruits(oranges, pomegranates, etc.) could it be the volume thats doing it?
I've been brushing my teeth, putting lemon juice on my tongue(hoping the acid might help), using mouthwash all the time, nothing seems to help. I'm willing to try anything. My doctor isnt in till Friday, so some tips to help until then would be awesome!
