To start with, I'm allergic to my cat at home. We're not getting rid of her. I have a terribly stuffy nose because of this, so I used nasal spray at night, otherwise I'd breathe through my mouth and wake up with bleeding, chapped lips. It worked so well, I decided to disregard the 3 days and keep using it. I suppose as a result of, I developed some kind of sickness or sinus problem where I had cold like symptoms: swollen lymph nodes, hurts to swallow, etc. I'm all better now, except for the mucus.

I am constantly (I mean every 15min) blowing my nose and hacking up tons and tons of mucus. It's terrible. I feel it collecting in the back of my throat like something slightly heavy and I just have to run to the bathroom to hack it out. It literally feels like I'm throwing up my stomach. I really don't know what to do because I go back to school really soon and I don't want to run out of class every 15min to hack up this horribly uncomfortably phlegm.

My doctor recommended Zyrtec for allergies (which I'm on for 2 days now) and I just bought Mucinex today. I took a cold/flu pill earlier on that got rid of my cold, should I stick with that instead? I just REALLY need to get rid of this phlegm badly! I'm seeing an allergist on Monday but I'm dying here!
