If a person were to swing a bucket filled with water around in a circle, what would be it's velocity so that the water would not spill? I'm investigating centripetal force. I know the combined mass of the bucket and water, which = 24.5393 kg. This seems large but I found out the amount of kilograms in terms of pounds and the bucket was 1.81437 kg and the water was 22.725 kg. It's a 6 gallon bucket and I was told 1 gallon weighed around 8.35 lbs, although this seems off. The radius of the bucket is 6 inches, or 0.1524 m. I need to either find the period or velocity of the bucket to find the centripetal force.
