Average life of a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab?

I'm thinking about buying a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab (4x4) but I know Dodges are notorious for their transmissions needing to be replaced. I have a 94 Ram 1500 with 240,000 miles on it but it's running a little rough and the transmission has been replaced once already. I've also seen a lot of other people selling their Dodges and they always say that the transmission has been replaced at least once. Is this true with the Dakotas? How long do they generally last? 200,000 miles? 275,000? Is this a good choice? We are looking at it because my husband and I really like trucks and this is smaller than my Ram and it has a big back seat (we are TTC). My Ram doesn't have a back seat so this would be our family vehicle. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
