Avatar extended edition Bluray won't play in my sony vaio?

I have a sony vgn laptop that plays bluray using winDVD BD for vaio application.

I been able to play all my other bluray movies, except for the avatar extended edition bluray disc i just brought. The windvd application tells me that i need to update. but i can't find a place to update the software. my current version is 8.0 dxva b09.754
