ok i was on my computer using Avast free home edition 4.8.
it popped up saying it found the SPAM BLOCKER UTILITY.
the computer is a windows 98 and runs better then anyother computer i come across but just more like an artifact on machines...lol
the advice im asking for is that i am wondering should i remove the spam blocker or just send it straight to the avast chest to deal with and see from there.
because avast alerts me that the spamblocker is infected.
because i hear of false possitives all the time online and wondered if this is one of them and maybe it doesnt recognise the program or if its really damaged and needs to be removed and deleted.
its saying its a adware in the malware catagory.
so what should i do, do i really need this spamblocker or is it just useless?

please do not tell me i need another computer and all that about the history of windows 98, it gets pretty lame.
just stick to the question and give a straight answer.
i like this computer better...way better because it runs faster and lasted longer.
matter of fact i had to use this computer because in the other room i have 5 computer towers that are slow and had so many viruses and all that crap and i have to get someone to fix them, and they only lasted 1-2 years.
even if it is a program it is still part of the computer and it lasted longer so i like to keep it running another few years atleast, use what you got.
im thinkin about going to IOBIT.com and download a program called "advance window care" for more protection.

windows 98 is not a computer it is an operating system.

send the supposed virus file here for checking.

Don't use avast. It is known for missing viruses and making false positive reports. First off, you want to visit housecall.trendmicro.com for a free, reliable, online virus scan. Remove ANYTHING it tells you is bad - this will likely include your spam blocker. Once that is dealt with, start using Firefox with the Adblock Plus extension installed - you should have no more problems with spyware or malware that you don't install yourself.
