This is by average according to the article 26% of Australians are obese and 25% of Americans are obese. 300 million Americans compared to 21 million Australians so America still has Australian beaten in numbers of fat people.
I just thought it was interesting because of all the nations to surpass America I wouldn;t have thought it would be Australia.
