Hey.
I'm an Australian citizen who will be completing their high school education in a Korean international school because of my father's business. Although I'll be graduating with an American high school diploma, I'm still eligible to apply as a domestic student.
I want to become a dentist and am not sure what path I need to take. I've heard it depends on the university and the state on whether or not the dental program is undergraduate or graduate only.
I'm currently thinking about applying to the University of Melbourne (bachelor of biomedicine or maybe science), University of Sydney (bachelor of science), University of Queensland (bachelor of dental science), and maybe a few more universities.
GPA: 3.8 UW (out of 4.0)
SAT 1: 2250 (Math 800, CR 700, Writing 750)
AP: Calculus BC 5, Chemistry 5, English Language and Composition 4, World History 4
I heard they don't look at SAT 2s..so I won't post that.
I'm not sure if they look at extracurricular activities but I'm in the Mathematics Honor Society and the Debate team. I've also done 200+ hours of volunteering at a university hospital.
1. I've heard that my stats are high enough for me to get into honor programs. Can you tell me more about this?
2. Also, can you tell me my chances to these schools?
3. Out of these schools (or others) can you recommend the best school for me?
By the way, I'll also be applying to American universities but not dental but probably economics, business, or something like that because I'm an international. But, I would much prefer if I could go to an Australian university and become a dentist.
