Australia supports the US economy

As much as we all like to purchase locally, I have to say I will allways buy from the US.

No offence to the Yanks but I am sad to say as an Australian I will almost never buy parts of accessories in Australia.

Most of the stores dont give a shit if after you order they will then tell you ite will take 4 WEEKS to deliver.

And the prices are shit. I had a MPL Ti Slipper sent to my door for AU$1600 from Canada. The best price I could get in Australia was AU$2200 plus postage.

And thats with express air freight to my door within 7 days at 0.68c in the dollar.

When I had the 1098 I asked for quotes from both the Akra and Arrow improters in Australia for full systems and both quotes came back AU$1000.00 more expensive than getting it air freighted to my door from the states at the current exchange rate WITH GST.

Either the manufacture is butt fucking the Australian distributers or they are butt fucking us, or maybe a bit of both.

Me, I am only going to buy stuff from the US, even my house mate with a Honda Blackbird has found the same.

It's sad.

I'm with ya brother....

The approach I take with this kinda thing is as follows...

I'll bend over and take it to a certain point just for the sake of supporting local etc. That's fine. But if my nose starts touching my toes I start to get a little pissed and raise my middle finger...

A thousand dollar difference? Yeah...how do your toes taste I say to anyone not looking out for their own interests when the difference gets to be that large.

That is just plain wrong. I might swallow a 250 - 350 dollar diff but when it gets to 500 - 1000 that is bordering on retarded...

If someone is out to get screwed there will always be someone there to screw them...way of the world unfortunately...

Geez, I thought we had it bad here in Canada on the cost of things. You guys have more to complain about for sure based on the examples you gave....

We really get screwed on the price of cars here. Price of bikes is not so bad actually...price of bikes seems to be right inline with exchange vs us dollar these days...

Cheers

I really believe it happens everywhere even here in the U.S. My dealer wanted to charge me like $3500 for the full Akra system and they claimed they were discounting it. I got it from Dan Kyle for a thousand dollars less. Same with the DP ECU saved like $500 from Kyle. What really makes no sense is that an aftermarket dealer can give you a better price on an OEM part than the actual vendor.
