As most of you probably know by now, the Emissions Trading Scheme that Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of Australia is trying to get through the Senate is a new tax. It will cost us Australians $120 Billion per year. This will make life untenable for the working poor, a lot of self - funded retirees and pensioners.
There will be an increase in the number of homeless families who will become dependent on charities. The cost of electricity will double. The only people to benefit will be those buying and selling Carbon Credits. Are you for or against the ETS.

Tony Abbott sited $120 Billion as far too excessive a taxation to impose on the Australian people when he was elected leader of the Liberal Party this morning.
That is why he is sending the Labor Party's ETS Bill to a committee and not passing it the way Malcolm Turnbull was going to. That is why Malcolm Turnbull has lost the Liberal Party leadership. The public don't want this huge tax. I think it is much dearer than the estimates below. I wasn't given an calculations.
