Audio dropouts, Dolby Digital on TMN

I have a 4100, and since new have experienced audio dropouts with Dolby Digital broadcasts (both 2.0 and 5.1). With my subscription the only stations that broadcast Dolby Digital are the 300s, TMN. Dropouts last only 1-2 seconds, happening anywhere from every twenty minutes to every three minutes.

Digital PCM is fine, no dropouts there.

I've spent hours on the phone with Tech support. Invariably they ask me to check my settings, check my cables, and reset the unit, all of which I have done. I bought a new optical cable, so it is not a cable problem. Eventually they sent me another 4100, but the problems persist. I also recently upgraded my Home Theatre receiver, and the problem is still there, so I doubt it is the HT component.

Software is the latest (auto update is on).

Anyone else having this problem, and if so, is there a fix?

OK, what about other ExpressVu models? If you're using the digital optical out, and the channel is broadcasting in Dolby Digital, are you experiencing periodic dropouts?

I have done a search but most of the current dropout problems seem to be HDMI or HD related. Does that mean the problem has been solved for the Optical out, or are people living with the defect?

If other models have this problem, I would guess the issue is on Bell's end. If it is only the 4100, then obviously it is this particular model that is the problem.

Anyone?

I am having the same issue with my 9242 receiver. Annoying as hell. Have you found a fix?

Yes the problem is still there, perfect on PCM, dropouts galore with Dolby Digital.

I think this might be an ExpressVu-wide problem - all the representatives toe the party line and pretend it will be fixed by resetting the unit.

Does anyone NOT have the audio dropout problem with DD?

I'm having the same problem on my 9200 recently.

How do you guys find the quality of this channel, has it dropped with the sound?

Was an old problem that appeared to be fixed. However on the 9200 recording of "Knocked Up" from saturday night there were a number of audio drop outs. Have not seen so many in some time.

You mean it was supposed to be fixed ?
I have the 9200 and have had audio dropouts (like stutters) since I've had it. I just learned to live with it because I was tired of calling the CSR and having to reset my unit and whatever else they make you do, or tell it's a problem they are working on.

Some shows don't have many, some shows have lots, sometimes 3 in the span of 30 seconds, then none for 20 minutes

Should I be asking for another Unit ?

I doubt if getting another unit will solve the problem (it didn't solve mine). Maybe you should demand another unit if only to eliminate the possibility of it being your 'cables,' etc., as Bell may claim.

I have the problem on my 9200 and 9242 when watching anything with a DD soundtrack.
