ATTN: Droid Eris/Hero users

Well, rumor has it 2.1 will be released soon.I've spoken to a couple of HTC reps and found that it it will be released within in two months, but then I was told by the other 2.2 would come in the fall. These are all rumors so far, but note. IF YOU UPGRADE YOU WILL LOOSE ROOT. I've received many DMs on other forums so I thought I would post it here. Whenever it comes out, don't upgrade, wait for a modder to re-release it so that you can maintain root.

Make it a great phone or not, the choice is yours.

Actually the Verizon Eris has been reported to be rolling out a staggered OTA update, Sprint has made it known that they are working with HTC in working out the bugs and no other information is known when it will be released.
