...property....? ...that she can no longer afford to make the payments on. She owes 35K, if the bank approves a short sale offer of say 20K will she still be liable for the remaining 15K? Is this something that can be negotiated? Also, once she has inititated a short sale request and say learns that she would indeed be liable for the balance can she 'cancel' the short sale or is she obligated to go thru with it?
