Attaining text messages from cell phone records (cheating spouse)?

Last week my husband asked me for a divorce completely out of the blue, over the phone, while he was working out of town, after a 3 year relationship. We have been happy, loving, and close all this time, although he does work out of town during the week. Up until now I thought we were both very much in love and aside from a couple of communication issues here and there, I KNEW our marriage was strong and healthy. There was no sign of anything that would indicate otherwise.

After a relatively minor disagreement on Monday, we hung up the phone on less than desirable terms, but not horrible. The next morning he called me up and told me he wanted a divorce. He no longer loved me, doesn't know when he stopped loving me, and just can't take it anymore. When I asked, then begged him to allow us time to work on it, he said it wasn't worth the work and you shouldn't have to work at something like marriage, anyway.

This is all completely out of character for him, and completely unexpected. Long story short, things only got worse throughout the week. The more I tried to talk him into counseling, time together, please don't do this, etc. etc. the more fired up he got about it. He came home this week, spent one night at the house in the guest room, then left. Came back for another night, then packed up and said he was going out of town for a couple of days by himself. This is a man who HATES being alone, muchless on a trip. I haven't heard from him since he left on Monday afternoon, and nobody has heard from him since Monday night. I'm at a loss as to what's going on, and devastated that our marriage is ending so suddenly and under these circumstances. He completely changed in just two weeks from the man of my dreams to this unemotional, cold, and empty person who deliberately says things to hurt me and drive me away.

I've always trusted him, NEVER thought he'd cheat. Throughout all this I still had faith in that. But today I got a message from Verizon saying our Verizon account was coming close to surpassing the minute limit. Confused, I logged on to check activity....and found numerous calls and texts from a phone number I do not recognize. This phone number first showed up on the bill five days before he asked me for a divorce. There are literally over 20 texts a day each, and about 3-5+ calls daily. I traced the number to a lady in Austin....the same place he's been working the last three weeks. As hard as a pill it is to swallow, it does look like he has found someone else. I've asked him, as has his own mother, his brother, and the majority of our friends (everyone agrees his behavior this last week is completely erratic, uncharacteristic, and bizarre), but he denies having an affair. He doesn't know that I've seen the cell phone records.

My question is: Can I go to Verizon and request a copy of the transcripts of the text messaging done on his phone? There were also pictures being sent back and forth which I would be curious to see. I know at this point there's no saving the marriage, but I do have to know if he is cheating on me so I can drop any notion or hope of a miracle that may keep us together. I'm having a very hard time accepting that he may actually be cheating on me, and seeing it right there in black and white will jolt me out of this denial that "maybe it's just a friend or coworker he's texting at all hours of the day and night" and allow me to accept the truth--that he is not the man I thought he was, and this really is over. Is there any way to access this info via myverizon.com? Any other tips or information you may be able to offer would also be very much appreciated. I'm just at a loss right now.
