Attach finger print scanner in php web application.?

Can any one tell how to attach finger print scanner to web based php application attendence system.
I want to use attendence system locally

I am developing a web application like erp type.
But i only want to use my web application on server based and i want to attach finger print scanner for attendence of employees. Is it possible to finger print to web application using php on local server?..
