I was looking at the ATT order page for iPhone. Under the messaging section, it says things like "200 messages for $5" and it says that includes instant messaging like on AIM and Yahoo. So I'm thinking, WTF? Wouldn't instant message simply use the WiFi or 3G data you happen to be on? If I get an iPhone and an AIM app, I don't want ATT counting my IMs, I just want it to go through the internet connection like any web browsing.
So what's the deal?
Why do they count as text messages if they go over WiFi on a completely different network?
