Ativan Vs. Xanax for anxiety/panic

Hi I've been having GAD and panic attacks for about a year and a half now im currently taking Ativan1mg as needed for panic attacks i heard about xanax working better for them. Any personal experinces or requests. Im kind of afraid to ask the doctor about swithching them because i dont want him to think i will abuse them because i heard xanax is widely abused. :dizzy:

I prefer Ativan (Lorazepam) myself. Really the only difference between the two drugs is the onset of action and their half life. Xanax is faster acting, but has a very short half life.

The grass is not always greener on the other side. If what you are on is working stay with it. When you start hopping around with the meRAB then things start getting confused as to why or the what of it all. However, never feel you can't discuss the issue with your doctor ...you have every right to be on it and you have every right to ask questions without feeling guilty about anything...there may be a very good reason he picked that particular one for you so ask.
