Ativan vs Buspar

Which one do you take and/or think is better for the long run?

I say Buspar it doesn't have the habit forming and permanent brain changing Ativan has. At least not as much.
 
Ativan is not long term medication. Its only in case of severe panic attacks, and is a faster acting type. Buspar is used to raise your serotonin level, and is more long term than Ativan, however, I think buspar is only used in 3-4 week terms. Definitely want to check with your doctor, though.
 
When I first started taking buspar I was told that I would take it for a year. It has now been five years. I did try to go off but the anxiety came back. My doc says it is a safe drug so I will take it as long as I need to. Godbless
