The number of volunteer troops and people who sign on for the army in these countries will never be sufficient to defend the countrty against larger neighbours. Therefore, for security reasons and to protect themselves, these countries have to have conscription to have an army of considerable size.
However, jehovah witnesses will never serve in the armies of these countries. On the other hand, we know it is everyone's responsibility to defend the nation. And these countries cannot force jehovah witnesses to serve in their armies because it would be a breach of human rights. But should jehovah witnesses put their country above their personal rights?
