For those who are interested, and have a little time in argument, let us have a debate. Please be as extensive to your answers as possible in order to give good argument and would be easier for the next persons to give another answer. I am a Catholic, but declaring myself as the presiding judge makes me neither an Atheist, nor a Catholic, so that I would not be biased. But since I would start the topic, and I am a Catholic, I would give Atheists a question and it is up to everyone to answer the last argument.
Since the two factions argue with the existence of a certain Supreme Being, then it is only logical to start with that topic.
Where do you think that the universe came from? Even before the big bang? It is a law that if something is there, then something produced it, right? The universe must come from somewhere, and would it not be something that has no beginning, and has no end? Well, you can say that the universe itself has no beginning and has no end, but it does not disprove that something might have created it.
My second question is why is it that the same elements that comprises the universe is the same thing as those in our body? I don't think that it is likely that a set of organic compounds suddenly chose to sustain itself. There must be a force that drives them.
My last question is why is it that life is formed in this planet? Since the univers is expanding, then it must be infinite, and the chance of creating life within it is one out of infinite possibilities, therefore is improbable, but here we are, living, then there must be something that drives the whole universe into order.
Hope this debate works peacefully. : )
I am not looking for a winner in this debate, but I am interested in how people defend their beliefs.
this goes to old timer.
Check out Nate's answer, he has a good point about probability.
As I have said, I do not side on Catholic nor Atheist, but I have the right to site some good answers
Another good answer from tucking fypos. Thank you.
to glenn123, I do not disprove any theories about alternate universe or other life forms on other planets, but sorry if I have not included it on my questions.
wayward joe has a good answer too, but try to do a bit of research about the Catholic faith and you might find that some paradox that you said about God is actually totally impossible. Try asking someone about it.
