...others? You can choose either your first baseball game seeing ANY team or your first baseball game seeing YOUR team.

I know at my first (ever) baseball game at Fenway Park, Tim Wakefield really seemed to stand out to me. While Jason Varitek is my favorite player, I've always been kind of "attached" to Tim Wakefield.

Anyone else have a similar story? Different story? I'd like to hear what other baseball fans have to say. :)

I was just a little guy when I went to a spring training game in Tampa, Florida. It was at Al Lopez field where the Cardinals and Yankees played all their home games. My father was best friends with Johnny Vander Meer so we were able to go down on the field prior to the Yankees playing against the Pirates. I had the chance to meet Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. We sat in the box seats next to the Yankee dugout and could see everything that went on during the game. I was hooked!

What I remember the most is how kind both Mantle and Berra were to me. That first meeting has stayed with me to this day.

Don Mattingly, my dad pointed him out and told me that one day he will be the greatest yankee ever... Too bad Donnie's Back didnt get the memo.. but i was infatuated with him from that day, he was my guy.... still is

Yes, I am a Red Sox fan and I remember my first 4 games I went to, Tim Wakefield pitched. Big Papi did not play in three of those games so I really didn't know who he was at the time. The player that stood out to me was Wake's battery mate Doug Mirabelli. I really don't know why, but he just seem to stand out among all the players.

Derek Jeter. Didnt know who he was, because I was 5. When the Bleacher Creatures started chanting his name, I asked my dad who he was, and he told me, and I kept my eye on him the rest of the game

My first game seeing MY team was revolved around "hurry up and get the other team out, chippers up next, or Come one braves get hits so i can see Chipper hit again" Im a bit more of a complete fan know, but i was only 6 then. I loved him then, and still do and hope to see him in the HOF one day.

Mine is kinda strange. My first game was 2001 against the blue jays and I noticed immediately Mike Mussina because everyone was yelling MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!!!! I thought everyone was saying boo and i was asking my dad why everyone was booing the yankees at home!

yep.. shaquille o neil... Just kidding
real answer - yes.. alex rodriguez
PLZ CHECK OUT MY QUESTION TITLED : "I'm getting suspended...?" IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.
THANK YOU

I became immediately interested in Alfonso Soriano after watching his batting practice and play. I am not a fan of his team nor is he the best ever, but I find his manner interesting and his swing enjoyable to watch.
