At what gestational age is the baby too big to determine sex via ultrasound?

I am waiting for final approval for insurance before I get an ultrasound, I'm already 20 weeks, and I'm worried that by the time I can get the ultrasound, they will no longer be able to determine sex. From my previous pregnancies, I was always told to get the ultrasound between 16 - 20 weeks, but wondered if after this window would it be too late?
