AT&T internet and TV keep freezing?

About two months ago, my family switched from Comcast to AT&T for our internet and TV. It worked fine (better, even) until about last week. Now, on some days, every five or so minutes, the internet will stop working and the TV will freeze on picture for about two minutes. My father called the local company last week when it was first happening and they said they were running some tests and losing our connection couldn't be helped. However, that was a week ago, and it still happens randomly throughout the week. Today has been especially bad. I checked all of the cords and everything seems to be fine. Should I call the company again? Is anybody else in the Chicagoland area experiencing this problem with AT&T?
