AT&T call forwarding question

My company has issued to us AT&T company cell phones and apparently they are able to tell where I am ever time the phone is used. I feel this is invasion of privacy. If I were to leave my company cell phone off and then have my company cell phone calls forwarded to my personal cell phone would they be able to track this activity of knowing where I am at?
 
There is no expectation of privacy when you use a company owned phone. They can require you to use their phone as a condition of employment. They can also require you to provide your whereabouts when you are on the clock. When calls are forwarded, the use of plan minutes are depleted at twice the rate of a call answered on the phone number dialed. You may be terminated if you do not follow the company's policies. Everyone has to give up some of his freedom in order to be gainfully employed.

Be advised that voicemail does not work if you unconditionally forward calls to another number.
