I currently use AT&T 8525 ($40/month 450minute, $40 data plan). I plan to get a new phone. I explored droid Incredible but I was disappointed. The rate for voice is the same, $40/month. The data plan is $30/month, $10 cheaper than my current one. However:
1. Only Web-based email. That means I won't be able to sync email by Outlook through Exchange server. Unless I get the $45 data plan.
2. No tethering, unless I pay additional $25 monthly.
3. The data plan is NOT unlimited when you tether. The limit is 5GB.
I tried iPhone 4 as well. Their 2GB data plan is $25 w/o tethering, $45 with tethering. My understanding is that email through exchange server is fine.
Why am I disappointed? My current data plan is truly unlimited, free tethering, outlook email through ActiveSync, for $40/month. If I don't use tethering, I think I will go with iPhone because it is cheaper and it supports Exchange. I don't really watch Youtube on cell phone, so 2GB or unlimited does not matter. However, I do find my current unlimited tethering handy, when I stay in a hotel w/o free Internet or when my home Internet is out of service temporarily.
Maybe I missed something. But at this moment, I feel I should stick with my phone. Could you please provide your insight? Would it be a good idea to switch to Droid incredible or iPhone?
