...one second...? A friend and I were travelling west on the A50 in England from Stoke on Trent to Nottingham after a night at work when a very bright green light appeared in the sky, it covered the distance we could see of the sky in about one second then disappeared (we were in a car, so could not see the whole sky).

Neither of us have ever seen anything like it, and knowing people report such things called the local police, who helpfully also had no idea who we should report it to.

It was way too fast for a plane of any kind, and my friend (who has better eyesight than me) said it appeared to be shuttle cock shaped.

It was not a reflection of any kind (the A50 is a very dark road).

Did anyone eles see anything similer or know what it might have been ?

There was a green comet, don't know the exact day that passed by earth. google it and see.
