we on earth and the things around us are being pulled down by the gravitational force of the earth. Earth has a magnetic field around its poles. But shouldn't the magnetic field only pull down metals of a kind? What are the causes of gravitational force?

The magnetic field and the gravitational field are completely different phenomena.

Gravity exists because the earth has mass.

Magnetic field exists because the earth has a liquid, metallic core.

So the "cause" of gravitational force is the mass of the earth and the mass of the objects being "attracted".

That's not 100% accurate, but it's close enough!

It is a different kind of magnetic field. Think of our planet(s) as sitting on a cushion of this field...as we sit there we sort of weigh down on this field which is why the gravitational pull for some planets are different than the other.

Think of placing 8 balls of all different shapes on a towel held by four friends in all four corners. the balls would slightly weigh the field down on different levels based on their mass...giving a different pull for each ball.
