I think you mean that the star has twice the luminosity as the Sun, instead of the energy.
In that case we can apply that luminosity L is proportional to Area*T^4, or
L_star/L_Sun = Area_star/Area_Sun * (T_Star/T_Sun)^4
So we have that 2 = 1* (T_Star/T_Sun)^4 or T_Star = 2^(1/4) T_Sun
= 1.189 * 5780K = 6874 K
