Okay i have a problem on an assiment and i can find ANYTHING to help, The question is "The half-life of an unstable isotope is 75 million years. After what length of time would there be less than 10% of the original atoms of the isotope remaining? " is there a website that anyone knows that could help, or an equation....i have been looking for a looooong time.

Half life means half of amount has decayed after the clock time specified. Half gone--75Myr; another half of half gone, 150Myr; another half of the quarter that was left, 225Myr; and another half gone of the 1/8th that was left, 300Myr. 1/16th or 6.25% left. That would be less than 10% of the beginning amount.
(1/2)^n = n(half-life time)

i could do your homework for you... but you have to answer a question first.

why did you think this is an "Astro. Question...?"

shouldn't you be asking in Physics?
