My father has recently joined me in my love for astronomy, and he keeps talking about going into astro photography. What type of equipment would I need in order to get average pictures? I am not looking to break the bank and get magazine quality, but it would be nice to get pictures looking better then my phone camera

Also, what size/type telescope would you reccomend?
Currently I have a 3.5" Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain would that be acceptable?
