I am 23 and while I was in 9th grade I went to the doctor because I was always extremly out of breath during gym and while going up stairs. My doctor did no breathing tests, but told me I had bronchial spasms and sent me on my way. It seemed better in high school, but now I am in college and find myself so out of breath from just walking through the parking lot into the school, or up stairs. I get soo out of breath it's even hard for me to talk. I don't wheeze, just out of breath and dizzy sometimes. I'm going another doctor, but would like your take on it? What are some differences between astma and broncial spasms? Any input would be appreciated! thanks!

There is NO difference between bronchial spasms and asthma. They both refer to a contraction in the "smooth" muscle, or involuntary muscle
in the wall of the bronchi which conduct air through your lungs.

Some people have a one time "bronchial spasm" in response to chemicals or other irritants but never have another attack. In your case, it sounRAB like you've had recurring spasms which is, by definition, asthma.
