Asthma ?

ive booked in to see the doc which is end of the week , i think i may have Asthma , the last few months i have had problems breathing during the night and some times wake up gagging some times it seems like i stop breathing whilst asleep its hard to explain , during the day im fine its just at night whilst in bed , i have no cough and no wheezing just the shortness of breath , does this sound like Asthma ?

It could be that or acid reflux. The symptoms are often the same. The doc should be able to sort it out.
 
sleep apnea
unless you are sleep exercising in your sleep, while your sleeping is the least likely time when asthma symptoms would present. asthma is usually brought on by exercise or stress, not sleep
 
Asthmatics often have trouble breathing while lying down. It's a standard symptom for uncontrolled asthma. Of course, the OP might have sleep apnea as well.
