Asthma false positive/other problem?

I am 50 yo, recent x-smoker and started asthma symtoms several months ago. 3 doctors, many tests, and probably every med for asthma, I still have breathing problems. Breathing is labored, and coughing consistantly 24/7, worst at night. So called "attacks" take me to the edge. (Epi-pen not far me). I have never had a "clear" breathing moment since 1/08. Any thoughts are welcome. TIA

I think I posted this on another thread but your symptoms are consistent with LPR (Laryngopharyngeal Reflux) which can mimic the symptoms of asthma and which doesn't respond to typical asthma treatment.
