Im newbie here and i have some questions,
like a year ago i found out that i have Asthma after i got 2 hard Attacks after midnight, but after using the Inhaler i got used to it and i could avoid mostly all attacks, but lately im facing troubles when i go to sleep.
after i sleep in 1 or 2 hours i wake suddenly with Very heavy breathing and almost no breathing with heavy caughing... i use the inhaler multiple times till i get relaxed but when i go back to sleep , same issue 1 to 2 hours and back to heavy breathing ...

any advice on how to avoid or treat such thing ?

Are you any preventative asthma medications. If not, that may be something you have a serious talk to your doctor about. You should not be relying so much on your rescue inhaler.

Have you tried using your inhaler before you go to bed? If so, has it helped you go any longer during the night without an attack? If not, you might give it a try. Kind of like people do before they exercise.

You need to figure out what is triggering your asthma. Dust mite allergies are a serious source you should be looking at. Also, reflux can trigger things and it gets worse when you are lying down at night.

Have you been tested for any sleep disorders?

I recommend that you see a Pulmonologist. I actually go to one that also specializes in sleep disorders. They can really get you on a good plan to get your asthma under control.

Yes i use my inhaler before i go to bed, and regarding Dust i have very powerfull Air Purifier in the room and its well ventilated, i have an allergie that i get every summer (Mid to end of summer, Like now) that causes stuffy and running nose, looks like flu but its not. and yes whenever i lie down i get such an attack at night.

i havent tested for sleeping disorders yet, but i never had such thing, i mean i am very deep sleeper and i enjoy sleeping coz nothing can bother me but just this few days the attacks are making me AFRAID to sleep so im not feeling sleepy at all, i sleep (looks like fainting) after i stay awake for a long time trying not to.

ah and btw i quit smoking 3 weeks ago only and since then i cant sleep.

Are you on a daily preventive - beyond the rescue inhaler? It would appear that the asthma is not under control.

A medication you take daily to prevent attacks. The inhaler you describe sounRAB like a "rescue" inhaler that you take once you have an attack. People with asthma are generally on a daily med to to prevent attacks - common ones in the US where we are located are Flovent and Advair.

does your air purifer give off ozone because that can cause attacks daily preventive== accolate, singulair something like that i take both accolate for asthma and singulair for allergies
