Just out of curiosity...how long does it take for the Astelin Nose spray to kick in and start working like it should? i was just prescribed this medication today by my ENT and wasn't able to do my first spray until tonight. Is this an instant gratification drug or is this something that takes a while to kick in or is this something like Omnaris where you have to keep taking it for it to really start to show any noticeable changes....i have a lot of black and blue around my eyes and swelling around my nose and that's the reason he gave it to me...

It is not instantaneous. It could take several days and as long as 2 weeks to see any dramatic improvement. And it won't "cure" the cause of the problem only chase the symptoms away while you are using it. If you were to stop the Astelin, the symptoms would eventualyl come back.
