assistance with the SPRINT 'HERO' cell phone?

ive got a hero and tbh i don`t think you can .i got a week ago and havn`t found out since then.
the htc web page doesn`t mention it. ive just seen something on a blog saying download the app ringdroid from the market ... thats supposed to work
ive also found mabilo ringtones mentioned in this blog
 
i have a sprint hero i just purchased, I know how to download songs, and set them as ringtones, but is there not a way we can personalize 'text messages, or voicemail tones as well??
help please.
