Well I upgraded to a new PVR with more space. Being in canada I am using shaw. I previously had the Motorola PVR, it was connected with Component cables. Now I have a Pace DC758D and I have it connected using HDMI. Now, my problem is that when I turn the t.v on, it default's to 16:9 aspect ratio. This stretches the picture of Non-HD channels. In order to have it look proper, the T.V. must be set on 4:9 allowing you to view all the shows in their proper format. The T.V. is a Samsung CN - 54O51D unlike many tv's it does not have a "Set by program" function for the screen setting. The worst part is I have to switch it to 4:9 every time I turn it on! The Pace box has a setting for aspect ratio, I've tried 4:9 and 16:9 on the box, they don't help; It just accomplishes the same thing, making the picture stretched. My cable provider just sends me to samsung, and vise versa.
