Just a little background before I pose my question. I have been with my present employer for over 2 years now. I transferred to my current department approximately a year ago. This transfer was considered a promotion in terms of both pay and prestige. Both of my annual reviews have been stellar.
I HATE the department I transferred to and want to transfer back to my old department. I am currently on FMLA due job burnout and am set to return in two weeks. How do I tell my manager I want out? Everyone in my department is completely stressed out and overwhelmed, including my manager. My fear is they block my transfer request and that I'm stuck in this position until they find my replacement, which could be months.
