- I was told by my internet provider (a locally run phone company, not one of the big guys) that I can only use their modem/router that they provide, to connect to the internet and can't go out and buy my own. Is that true?

- My husband checked out his grandma's 2 bedroom apartment last weekend since she's been out of town for the past 2 months. Her apartment (walls, furniture, etc) is covered in mold from a leak in the bathtub that she's had forever. Any advice, criticism, or pity is welcome.

- In last week's article on 10 dishes everyone should know how to make ([lifehacker.com]), there's a link to a LH article on Chef Anthony Thomas' recipe for tomato and garlic sauce ([lifehacker.com]). What bugs me is that the recipe says "Add the oil into the pan and heat to medium (a real chef rarely uses high for anything.)" It's the parenthetical I find puzzling.
