Asian terror movies real dreadful?

Hey :) I was wondering if people watch Asian terror films and what's their opinion on them. Do you have a favorite one? What scares you most in these pictures?
 
my favourite is ringu. its terrifying because it builds up its tension slowly. it is very atmospheric but also places terror in the mundane. the things in the film that are scary are very normal things; tv, being alone. it also creates a very convincing urban legend. it feels like something that is more real than something like saw. also, the ghost in the film is mysterious. its history is tragic and horrible but you never feel you know enough about it. it also looks and walks unnaturally. it looks broken, which is a scary idea
 
They're much better than their remakes! I think what turns people off of them is the subtitles, but in actuality, they convey the same effect as any American horror movie--perhaps better.

Ringu and Gin Gwai are the best ones I've seen.
