As a work of fiction, how often is the Bible discussed in book clubs? Plot? Character development?

It isn't commonly discussed in book clubs because too many easily offended people consider it non-fiction, or are too scared of retribution. Many of us who see it as a book of carefully edited random lessons don't view it in high enough esteem to discuss it. As a literary work, its shallow and predictable.

I had to read it for English, and I can tell you my reviews were less than stellar.

Considering that almost every classic story is fraught with "Biblical" allusions, though, it had to be read. (Despite the fact that the savior-redeemer-man-god is common in other mythologies, as are many of the other common allusions, for some reason it is assigned primarily to the Abrahamic faiths.)
